I surprised myself!

I had to replace a MA with a booster in a hurry the other day and was not looking forward to it. I had previously spent 15 minutes attaching the tether in the 2005 Ford Expedition, which is under the back of the seat and I had to almost stand on my head to do it. So I did NOT want to have to undo the tether for one afternoon.
I got the bright idea to loosen the tether strap, undo the Latch straps and flip the seat OVER the back of the second row into the cargo area. The third seat was flat (another reason it's so hard to reach the tether hook.) After flipping the MA back there, I hooked the Latch straps to the seatbelt back there (so it wouldn't be a projectile  ) It was surprisingly easy. Now I just have to put it back the way it was before I have to pick up my grandson from preschool tomorrow. Hope it is as easy as undoing it!

So were you able to get the seat installed back pretty easy since it was already tethered? Hopefully you had no problems.

I bet if anyone was looking in your car and had an idea of how to use carseats, they were probably making mental notes of all the carseat misuse you had with that "install" in the back of your vehicle.

Yes, I just redid it and it only took a few minutes to get it back solid!

About someone seeing it, thank goodness for tinted windows! ;)

besides, I'm pretty sure they would get why you had it that way... to prevent it being a projectile while being stored.

I've actually seen a van full of adults with a cosco 3-in-1 in the back attached similarly... but there was another seat under/behind it and a booster next to the two... but obviously any carseats and boosters had to come out for all those adults to fit.
