I was in taking pics of DD and DS in different seats. 2 asscociates, Store manager and "security" came over to stop me and escort me out of the store  The store manager kept saying the same thing over and over "We dont allow camera use in the store" I wasnt even given the option of putting the camera away and able to continue trying my kids in the seats
I did sell a Snugride32 travel system...... I said I wanted a commission on the $449.
I was told not to come back

Is there obvious signs in the store saying no camera use? If not, then they should have just simply asked you to put away the camera. I'd be complaining to corporate.

I did not see a single sign, nothing anywhere. I asked to see a sign.... and he just kept saying the same thing over and over. He acted very childish.
I have already called and was told each managercan use his own discression when it comes to cameras in-store.

I agree, they handled it wrong. But it's their right, and you cannot go back to that store without potentially being arrested for trespass.

That's fine, but really, kicking you out? Did you make a complaint to corporate about your treatment? They've already lost your business seeing as they won't let you back in the store so you can't even threaten them with that (other than saying you won't go into of their other stores either).

Yup. A lot of stores don't allow it.

I guess it depends on how much discussion there was. If they asked nicely to stop taking pictures and she refused or argued, I'm not really all het up over them asking her to leave. If kicking her out was the first choice and not a last resort, yep, complain.

 Odd...sounds like they felt you were being argumentative.

and BRU doesn't ever pay anyone commission. Just for the record. :p

You could call 1-800-ToysRUs or write a letter if you wanted to complain.

How ridiculous.

Though it explains why a co-worker of mine got so uncomfortable when I didn't really get firm with a customer who was taking a picture of a crib and dresser. I asked her to stop when I found out the rule, but didn't make her delete the ones she'd already taken. My co-worker seemed what I thought was overly concerned about my lack of concern at the time.

I work there and I think it's absolutely ridiculous to have that rule. Not like you're going to gain anything by having pictures of seats in the store. I somewhat can understand them being concerned over stealing the idea of how the crib "rooms" are set up and decorated, but the carseats? Give me a break... And to kick you out of the store over it without any warning?

And we don't have any signs or anything anywhere either. Yeah, I would be very angry as well if they just kicked me out without saying anything first.

Sorry you were treated that way. :(

They walked up tome and said "You cannot use a camera in the store, you need to leave now"
Me~ "Pardon??"

Manager~ "You cannot use a camera in the store, please leave"

Me~ "Im sorry, I had no idea, I did not see any signs. The picutres are for my personal use. Can I put my camera away and stay, im looking to buy 2 seats"

Manager~ "You cannot use a camera in the store, please leave"

Me~ "well can i get my comission on the travel system i just sold"

Manager~ "You cannot use a camera in the store, please leave"

All the while I was getting the kids back into the stroller and walking out.

Wow... That is appalling. Just a thought maybe the manager was having a bad day and just took it out on you. But saying that over and over again.... hmmm. also not giving you a second chance, is just plain wrong to me. You had know idea about that rule, you even said that and still the manager kept saying that, that is wrong. I think you should complain to corporate about this, even if you did already.

Oh wow, this is so disturbing to me, definitely wont be giving bru/tru any business car seats or otherwise. Does anyone know if target has this rule? I was planning on taking ds and trying him out in a few dif seats and taking pictures.....

It definitely does suck the way the treated you. I would call/email based just on that alone. I do know that TRU (at least the one in my city) has a no camera rule period. My DH works there and they're really strict about not allowing anyone to take pictures of the stuff they sell.

ETA: I just talked to my DH about it and he said the reason they are so strict about cameras is to protect children from pedophiles coming into the store and taking their pictures

That is horrible. I have taken pictures at Babies r us before but I can't recall if any employees saw me or not.

Wow, that's crazy. I'd deffinetly call corprate and complain.

I have taken many many pics in BRU and I know employees saw me. No one has ever said anything to me about my behavior in BRU (uhh....discussing seats with parents, letting my kids try to install the seats, and taking pics of them in seats), but my boss is terrified I'll be kicked out one day
