Question Looking back....

I know I can't change the past, but the "what ifs" and "why nots" are just eating away at me recently.

When we learned of ERF and EH Josef was outgrowing his Cosco Summit and was 3.5yrs (May 2007) of age, torso height of around 14.5" (most likely as we never meaursed his torso before then), and overall height of 39", weight 30lbs. On another forum we were advised to go ahead and get the Regent (which we did, and he was AT the bottom slots when we bought it) since he was over 3yrs of age and close to the 33lbs mark on the Marathon/Boulevard. No one mentioned to SKR65, not sure why, it was Britax that was recommended since money was not an issue.

Josef finally hit 35lbs and stayed there this past fall, he would be up and down in weight anywhere from 34lbs to 39lbs since Spring 2008. He started at the bottom slots in the Regent, on the second slots before his fourth b-day and we were using the third slots by mid-late summer 2008. He now weighs 40lbs and has been there for a few months now-finally!

In the back of my mind I keep asking myself-could he have been turned RFing, and if so for how long? Would we still have had to buy a Regent because we still do not want to put him in a booster before his sixth b-day (but that will happen in Daddy's car because he is outgrowing the GN).

So what would you have done or suggested us to do?

Well, the britax seats didn't go to 35 lbs until Spring of 08 so they would have had only a 33 lbs rear-facing weight limit at the time. The radian also only went to 33 at the time. I bet no one mentioned the radian because of the install issues and the adjuster not being as nice as the britax ones. I do like my radian but I really would only recommend it for people who need to do 3 in a row.

I think you did the right thing considering he was already 3 1/2.
