what is best/safest for DD's carseat?

she still fits in her infant seat... and will for at least 3 or 4 more months (i predict:eek:.. if not longer)

but should i move her to a RF convertible?

is it safer to keep her in the infant seat? arent infant seats by nature, safer than convertibles?

does it matter one way or another? or is it just personal preference... and i could move her to the convertible if it suits my lifestyle better?

thanks!

Infant seats are not inherently safer than convertibles, they just tend to fit newborns better and offer more convenience for the parent.

As long as your daughter fits in a RF convertible (harness straps below her shoulders), there's no reason you can't move her now if you want to.

thank you! i decided to make the switch to her convertible today.

but im having issues determining recline angle. i know that i can fold a piece of paper to determine 45 degrees. but i would like to do a more upright angle... like 35 degrees. how do i determine that angle?

my brain doesnt want to pull up 8th grade math and help me remember exactly which angle i am measuring here. i get that the seat back is at a 45 degree angle. but when you make the seat more upright it becomes a bigger angle... not a smaller one. does that make sense? i am so confused

It depends where you're measuring from. You need to measure from vertical, not horizontal.

As for determining whether your angle is ok, you just have to eyeball it and use some common sense. As long as the seat is in recline mode, and as long as your kid's head isn't flopping forward, it's probably fine.

You can always take a photo and have us look at it, too.

If you prefer to measure from horizontal rather than vertical, just think of it the other way; if you want a 10 degree difference, that's 35 degrees from vertical OR 55 degrees from horizontal. :)
