Question Maxi Cosi Rodi SPS/XR confusion

Okay, so after reading a review on the booster on celebrity baby blog, I felt I should add the info about the headrest rule.

Well, I included info about where the instructions were, and then realized I hadn't actually seen the XR's manual yet.

So... long story short, I read the very un-picture filled manual and found nothing about the usual headrest rule.

I went back and corrected myself to refer to just the Rodi SPS

Well, then I thought.. what if they changed the rule?

I went and brought up the SPS's manual... sure enough... no rule.

When did they change this??

the manual was so barebones I almost want to call and make sure it's for real.

Well,if you have stuck with me this far... just wait... there's more.

I realized then that I may have hallucinated... so I type the site in fresh and realize quickly why the manuals were so barebones... I hadn't been on the US site.

So here is my question... why is this a rule for the US, but not something that is mentioned at all on the default site?? (if you want to try it, go to maxicosi.com and choose OTHER instead of one of the countries, click on english, and you'll go to their "default" site.

Is this something that is just typical of all boosters in Europe??

Probably Dorel just tossed their usual rule, which applies to all their boosters with movable headrests, into the manual when they started marketing it, without testing the headrest for sturdiness in some way? Maybe they took it out because they realize it's unnecessary in that seat?

Just guessing...

Maybe it's a non-issue because European vehicles pretty much come standard with rear headrests. Those that I've ridden in, also have high rear seat backs . :shrug-shoulders:

it's defnitely in the american manual for the XR... I just don't get why they would just put it in there without testing it.

I think you are right about the european vehicles and that at least explaining why we wouldn't see it there.
