My brother thinks it's ridiculous that carseats, especially bases, expire. He took an expired Snugride base that Id been meaning to throw away from my parents house and is using it as a spare for another vehicle. He just doesnt believe it is unsafe just cuz it's a little older. R there any stats, crash tests, videos, anything I can show him to get the fact across? I explained that plastic degrades, weakens over time. But he just rolled his eyes.
Update: Well the good news is there was a miscommunication. My mom did throw out the expired base, so wut my bro was trying to say was that he took a base from OUR grandma's house, not 'Grandma' as in our mom. That base was my aunt's and it's not expired. But he still wouldn't care if it were expired.
