Differences in Britax seats- in US and overseas

I was reading about some of the Britax seats that are used overseas and was facinated to see that there are some signifant differences in the recommended use of US seats and those in countries such as Australia.

For example, with the Safe n Sound series (which is Britax in Australia), you must use the stabilizing bar when installing RF. You also cannot allow the RF carseat to touch the front seat (while in the U.S., we often "brace" the seat against the front seat). When using a seat RF, the harness must be at or above the child's shoulders (while in the U.S., we have to have the harness at or below the shoulders). The also repeatedly give instructions for using the carseat in the front seat and approve of using the seat in the front seat if there are no airbags (while in the U.S., you CANNOT put a child in the front seat unless there are no other available seating locations).

Manual for Australian seat

Weird, isn't it? It is the same company, but there are completely different regulations and recommendations.

In Norway and Sweden we have to use tethers when using Britaxseats RF, the harness should be at shoulder height except when the only option is to turn to FF, then the should harness can start from below. The seat must lean against the front seat or the dashboard if used in the front seat, and no seats have chestclip.

In Sweden it is also recommended to put the child RF in the frontseat, as long as the airbag is not active or not there at all. This is not a Britax recommendation but a generall advice.
