What as a back up seat?

I've always had my Sceneras as back up seats. Sofi only has 1.5 inches until she outgrows them RF :( So, time to consider new back up seats. I had an Uptown and really didn't like it. THat means I won't like the Avenue either, mainly because the harness adjuster isn't any easier to access :( Sofi has well over a year to go RF.

I can get a BV at a really good price, should I just get that? How high is the shell (I don't currently have access to my MA or BV to measure)? I'm hoping when the new TF comes out I'll really love it.

EFTA is not an option. Is there any other seat I should consider? This would be if she ever had to go with a friend of mine or aunt/uncle (uh...she never has, but ya never know), or in a rental car, or whatever. Don't really think a Radian is a good choice because it has install issues in some cars.

I'm not an enormous fan of the current TF. But I'm hoping I will be of the new one. Then again...maybe I'll get a TF since it is *just* a back up ;)

Anyone know the shell height of MA and BV? How about TF or RN?

Edit- carseatdata says the MA/BV are 25.5 inches. No info on the Radian or TF. Scenera was 23.

don't have numbers for you, but I know that the truefit is THE tallest convertible seat on the market (not counting recaros)... has the tallest top slots except the Radian (they are really close... don't remember which is actually taller) and THE tallest shell.

I'd get the truefit... it's worth it even if you aren't crazy about the harness adjuster because you'll be using it for so much longer than just how long she's rf.

Thanks, I know it's the tallest :) I guess that is what I'll be getting. Possibly a Radian XT as well got grandma's car if the new boot design allows it to sit upright enough.
