Question Nautilus - latch/tether use in booster mode

Okay... backstory... as many of you already know, I have one of the first released Nautilus seats that came with the original (ambiguous) manual that didn't say about latch/tether in booster mode.

Well, I ordered a new cover (Mariposa) and figured I'd go ahead and get a free (new) manual, while I was at it.

Today, the cover and the manual arrived. LOVE how the cover feels and looks, but left very confused about the manual.

I remember all too well when it was announced that Graco was allowing latch/tether in booster mode. Yet, in my manual, it specifically says "DO NOT USE LATCH and/or Tether in booster mode"

It is in the beginning sections at the bottom of a page of warnings (the page number is escaping me at the moment... after Jeffrey has been to the birthday party for his friend that starts in 1hr (aka... posting then going to get us ready to go), I'll double check the number and let you guys know what page.

Anyway... so since it is Saturday, I can't call them to find out the official word.

But is this manual correct??

check out the picture in this thread-

The GN manual clearly states LATCH is okay in booster mode. Okay, maybe fuzzily states, but if you can read the words the meaning is clear. ;)

One thing I've noticed about Graco's online versions is that they rarely update them. The only SR one available without inputting DOM and model number is from 2003(!). I think it's a lowest common denominator type of thing. Unless something major changes that makes info in older versions unsafe, everything in them still works for newer versions. However, there are sometimes updates to newer models (increased height and weight limits, for instance) that won't apply to older ones. So by only publishing older versions as the generic reference, all models are still covered. Does that make any sense?

My manual also says not to use the LATCH or Tether in Booster mode on page 13 and the front cover of my manual has "copyright 2008 Graco ISPB069BA 2/08 US" printed on the bottom of it...which I assumed meant it was printed in February of 2008, so I would have thought it would have the revised information in it? The DOM's on both my Nautili (is that the plural of Nautilus???) are 8/08 and 9/08.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but after reading the manual in the link, should I assume that it covers my seats as well?

yeah, I posted that link in the bottom of my last post... I found it.

I'm still just unsure what that means for my seat... I mean, I know the reps had said it was retroactive, but I kind of want to have it in the manual, which was why I ordered one.

methinks I will call them on Monday.
