Durability of Frontier mesh covers?

I remember seeing some threads about the mesh covers on the Frontiers when they first came out, especially the pink, about how it was snagging already after very short, light usage, and how it was staining, too. The pictures posted to illustrate were very sobering and really put me off a Frontier purchase (not to mention the splitter plate issue!)

Now that more people are buying and using the Frontiers, I'm wondering if this is a general consensus about the durability of the seat covers or just an issue from a few seats that were out there.

I'm not seeing durability problems so far. No snags or stains on my Red Rock. I've only had it since just before Thanksgiving, but my kids have eaten in it, and I move it 5-6 times a week.

Honestly, I'm not really worried about the cover lasting longer than a couple of years anyway. As soon as they come out with a plush cover I'll be buying it because the kids just like plush better. Sure it would be nice if it had a push cover now, but I wasn't going to let that turn me off a seat I needed.

I've had the pink one for a year now and its holding up great! Not much snagging at all. I'm pretty picky about how she gets in it though. I don't let her climb all over it to get in.

We got both a pink one & a red one last May. The red one still looks brand new, but admittedly, it doesn't get used nearly as much (in dh's car).

The pink? Not so much. There aren't any snags. But, where the crotch strap comes thru, it looks like it has loosened up a bit. A tag keeps popping up & I keep pushing it back down. There is just a bigger "gap" around the buckle than I'd like. But more importantlly...the pink looks icky. Not horribly, disgusting "I think a kid puked on that" icky, but just kinda dingy. And this was before the rain started kicking in here in Seattle, too. Honestly...it looks like two "leg" marks. I'm thinking sweat, etc. from my dd wearing shorts or skorts all summer left marks on the pink mesh. And that just looks...blech.

Since it says hand wash only, I haven't done it yet. I figure I'll wait a few more months & when spring arrives, I'll wash & dry it then & see how it looks. I probably should do it before our 1 year expires though (I know someone got a seat cover replaced because of the fraying), so that if it does fray & snag, I can call them.

I'm not thrilled with the pink cover at all. Do I hate it? No, I don't hate it either. It just isn't as nice as what I was expecting. Even our old Evenflo Triumphs had nicer covers, & I really thought it would be a much better quality from Britax. HTH!

Part time use of the Pink since last May...it's holding up much better than I'd expected it to...and Leah only wears velcro mary janes in it, so it should be snagged, I guess... I haven't taken the cover off to attempt a washing yet, though.
