Kind of off topic, but maybe you can help.

I am looking at getting my girls new jackets. Right now there are wearing these light spring kind of jackets in the car. I get crap from EVERYONE that they are not warm enough but they fit in the seats good and the girls never complain that they are too cold. I usually put a blanket on them right away. Anyway I found some Columbia fleece jackets on sale and was thinking of picking them up to use for the rest of this winter and hopefully next. I am just not sure what size to get. Not sure if they run big or small or what ever. My girls are very average sized. Not skinny or fat, but they are thick and big boned.
My almost 4 year old fits in 4t perfectly and sometimes wears 5 or 6. She is 40lbs and I think 39" tall. On the size chart I think she would fit in a 6-6x but not sure if I should get an 8 so she can wear it next year.

My 2.5 year old is a chunker. She is in 3t clothes and about 3-33lbs. I think 36" tall. On the size chart I think she is a 4-5 but maybe get a 6-6x for next year.
What do you think??
Here is the link to the store I am looking at where the size chart is....

I can't imagine a 6 fitting a 2 year old, I would get the 4/5 for her and 6 for the oldest. I'm betting you will still have to roll the sleeves up.

My 43 pound son wears a Columbia fleece. He normally wears size 4T shirts and has a size 5/6 coat that should fit him next year too.

I hope that helps.

I would bet a 4 will be plenty big so your 2.5yr old can wear it next year too. I'm just guessing that the coat she is in now just runs really small.

Ok I order a 6/6x for my oldest and 4/5 for youngest and a 12 month for the new baby. Hope that will fit him too. Thanks for your help. Maybe my family will leave me alone now!!!

Thanks for posting that question. I love those jackets and will buy some for my three kiddos. I've been reformed by this site and I am no longer putting them into their carseats in bulky coats. These fleece jackets will work great!
