Carseat on cab?

DH and I will have a trip in Feb and we plan to take the cab to airport instead to get a rental car to airport. Do we need to install the carseat in the cab? Are the drivers allow us to do so? My DS will be 15 months during the time. Thanks.

Just tell them to start the meter while you install the seat. They're getting paid while they sit there.

Install him rear facing, just as you would in your car. That's actually better in a cab anyway, since then you don't need to worry about your child face planting against the partition.

Some states have an exemption that you don't HAVE to install the seat in the cab, by law. However, for safety reasons, you should. The driver should allow you to do so, if he doesn't dismiss him and call for a different cab.

If you desire to install your carseat with LATCH, you can call and ask for a newer-model cab so you can be sure it will have LATCH anchors, which should make your install very quick. :)
