I did it! I did it!
Radian 65 installed rock solid on the drivers side outboard of a 05 Ford 500.
My own personal dragon. This is my MIL's car and I could never get an acceptable install and had tried hard about 4 or 5 times. The last time was a little more than a year ago.
So this time I let out the recline foot and twisted the female belt staulk. Both are tricks I have tried before. Also I pulled slack out of the belt through the cover slot nearest the buckle.
However what made the difference was this advise http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=28939
Forgive me for the weird angle, my MIL was hanging around.
When I was kneeling pushing back, it was pushing the belt path up and allowing slack in the seatbelt. When I knelt pushing down the belt path went down and I was shocked at how easy peasy it went it in (at 36 weeks, too)
Not only acceptable but rock solid!
Now I have gotten an acceptable install with the radian in every vehicle I have tried *somehow*
Thanks to Jen and to all the others for encouraging me to try again.
(The latch strap is still threaded through the belt path and IS NOT attached. I honestly thought it wouldn't work)

Kneel straight down in the seat (*not* back) and pull the tail end of the belt straight up and in towards the center of the seat to get all remaining slack out of the lapbelt. You may need to make sure the seatbelt buckle is not trying to untwist in a weird angle, preventing you from getting the seat tight (I'll include pictures so you know what I mean).
