Are there actual laws regarding the sale of expired carseats in Canada?

Just wondering if there are actual laws in Canada regarding the sale of expired carseats?

There are general laws regarding the sale of recalled or dangerous children's items/furniture. For example, it's illegal to sell a baby walker because it's banned in Canada.

An expired seat would fall into the same category because it's dangerous and no longer safe for use. Enforcement would be unlikely to happen though unless it was a boutique with a number of seats like goodwill or something.

Its about Garage Sale stuff, but it does have a blerb in there about car seat, and that they must meet TC regulations.

You must follow the manufactuer's instructions which give an 'expiry' date for their product. Therefore, using an 'expired' seat can raise problems for insurance, police, etc.

I have been looking into this with the situation I am dealing with at the moment.
I haven't been able to find any concrete info that states exactly that it is illegal but have found a list of issues that make a seat unsafe and using a seat that is unsafe is not illegal but if you are stopped you will be fined and if you were to be in an accident with an unsafe seat ICBC can/will hold you liable for any injuries or worse that may happen to that child as a result.
