Anyone see the VW commercial?

The passengers/driver are all talking about a movie they just saw, and CRASH! Side impact. Scares the bejeezus out of me every time. I told my husband, "Don't you dare ask me if her belts are too tight EVER again!"

Agreed, the realism of the commercial definitely freaked me out when I saw it online a while ago. I've never seen the commercial on television. Commercials actually, lol, because there are two VW commercials showing crashes. If anyone else wants to see them, the Detroit Free Press published an article about how viewers were startled and included links to the video clips a while ago:

I had never seen it before last night (after reading this thread). I turned on my tv not two seconds later I hear this crash and sure enough it was the vw commercial. That is one scary commercial.

I love these commercials! IF nothing else they help remind us all how quickly things can change!

I both love them and hate them - love them because they're sooo accurate, hate them because they give me flashbacks. LOL

I find the lag in the side curtain airbag's deployment a little interesting in the one with the two couples talking about the movie. There's another one where two guys are talking and getting into a bit of an argument and then slam into a truck backing out of a driveway.

Being a graphic designer I have some experience in the advertising world (even though I've vowed to stay the heck away from it!). The fact that we're talking about the commercials here makes them, IMO, successful.

Now, it'd be awesome for them to somehow integrate CPS into it. Like a mom diligently installing a car seat and then getting into a crash and the child's fine...I dunno...it might actually upset people.
