I run across *so many people* at work (BRU) who think their tiny little babies have outgrown the Safeseat 1/Snugride 32 because their straps are 'too tight to buckle over a coat'...now... we won't even get into the coat issue (I have an average of 8 seconds per customer...ok, maybe 30, but it's very brief...to get safety information across, and I just don't have time for the coat argument). Almost invariably, they have NO CLUE that the straps get longer on the bottom. So I say something, sometimes heft their kid up in the seat so the parent can see it ...sometimes even help them change it (eeew, spilled milk makes those straps sticky and crispy and hard to change ). I just wish there were some easier way for the seat to be designed so they didn't need that extra loopage (the Chicco doesn't have it...yet another reason to love the Key Fit, lol).
Oh and of course they're usually the same people who think their 15lb, 27 inch 6 mo is 'too big for the seat because her feet are near the edge'. Maybe I should hand out this picture and explanation, lol http://picasaweb.google.com/joolstag/LeahInCarseats#5022642882923604114
Though on the bright side, I've been telling parent after parent about the true mark of outgrowing being the head being an inch from the top (or the weight being reached, of course, but most kids are nowhere near 30lbs), and finally one of my coworkers believed me
