Question I want an FPSVD but are they all a year or older now?

So I'm looking on albee baby and find an FPSVD for 129 and I start bugging DH to let me buy it. Then I look on here to see what you guys say and in my searches find people talking about how they should be cheaper on closeout and more than year old seats. So what's the deal on this seat? Do they not make it anymore? I really want one but if it's already two years into exipry date that's no good with my small guy.

I have two of them and they are great seats. BUT...they are discontinued, sad to say, so it is hard to get replacement parts, etc. And the price is too much (IMO) for the time lost.

There are many newer seats for just a little more, like the Triumph Advance. Other posters will be along to recommend more seats!

I would skip the FPSVD. It is a good seat but has been discontinued for a while now. For the same price you could get a Evenflo Triumph Advance or a True-Fit for a bit more all with more recent dates of manufacture.

yeah... it was one thing when they first got discontinued and were going for under 100... but it's been discontinued for 2yrs now....

I would instead get the EFTA or spend a bit more and get the Truefit or Radian.

Or... get an Uptown that costs less than that budget and save up for a Nautilus or bigger convertible to follow it.

My son loves his FPSVD, we got it on albee baby when I first found out about the seat(it was 1 year old when I got it).

I personally love it! I wish it would go WAY under 100.00. I would buy another one for my daycare kiddos.

I would go with a marathon, truefit, evenflo triumph advance instead.
