Using strollers with infant seat....

When reading a manual for a SafeSeat I noticed it said in there to only use Graco strollers with their seats as other strollers can damage the seat or something like that. I just wondered... how many people actual listen to this? Do you think it is important? I almost never used my Graco stroller and never thought anything of it...it seemed to fit on the other stroller fine (didn't have to force it to clip on or anything), maybe I should have read the manual back then.

I think it's so they can make you buy a $250 quattro tour travel system;)

Honestly, though I think its a load of crap. As long as you're not forcing it to fit on something where clearly its not going to I don't think it matters.

I have 2 snugrides for baby girl and I am using them in my Britax Preview so no I don't listen.
The carseat dont snap in, but they sit so deep in the stroller I am not worried about it at all. I can always rig something up if needed.

I didn't like my Graco Duoglider so I got a new stroller (well several, this one is like the 4th one after that first one, lol) and it's not Graco. My seat fits fine in it.

I thought it said only graco or graco-approved strollers.

there are strollers that state they are approved for use.

I personally think it's just common sense... the seat should fit easily or not be used in the stroller.

I think it's mostly just a liability issue. That and a little bit of greed... wanting you to think you *need* to buy a Graco stroller.

I've used a SR and SS1 in lots of non-Graco strollers.

A few wks ago (when it was like -92 outside) I actually used the adapter straps from my e3 on my P3 so that I could put my SS1 on the P3 and be able to keep the main seat fully upright, so that 30m/o dd could ride on the footboard. Necessity is the mother of invention.

I think its to get you to buy thier expensive stollers. They missed out of the infant carrier idea and while they do have one out now its not as cheap or as nice as some of the other options.

It also helps prevent liablity on thier part when you use it in a stoller that doesn't fit it quite right and the seat falls out and the baby gets hurt.

I don't follow it. I don't like the way thier strollers hold infant seats in (the red things by the baby's feet do nothing for me) and think other strollers could do a just as good, if not better, job.

If it looked like there was the possibility that the other stroller would actually damage the carseat, then no I wouldn't do it. The only way I can see that happening is if the stroller somehow messed with the part where the carseat snaps into the base in the vehicle.

And I used our BabyTrend carseat with our Graco stroller. No, it didn't snap in. But there is no way it was coming out of the stroller, unless the whole stroller fell over.
