Narrowest booster at the base?

OK, dh has bought his midlife crisis car, a 1995 Pontiac Firebird. The back seat is two seats that are scooped out like buckets, no headrests, with shoulder belts that lock at the latch plate. Child that would ride in the seat is 8 yrs old, about 46" tall and about 55#. She currently fits in the Nautilus with about an inch or two to grow in the top slot, and fits nicely in her Turbo booster. The Turbo base is a little too wide to fit down into the back seat, so the hunt is on for a booster that has a narrow base to fit the seat bottom. Cost is a bit of an issue. Any suggestions appreciated!

What about the Monarch or Recaro Vivo? I think the Turbo is the narrowest booster per the car seat measurement site the last time I looked. Would the GN work in those seats? That would allow her to still be in a 5pt harness for a bit and still use it as a booster too.

I didn't try it yet, but the Wizard barely fit in the scooped out part of the seat bottom, so I don't foresee the Nauti fitting in the same space, especially since the Turbo was even a bit too wide at the bottom to fit. I think when the weather gets a little nicer a trip to BRU or similar store will be in order! I think for now I will measure the usable space in the car's seat and then measure the bottoms of boosters at the local stores. Anyone know how wide the Vivo is at the bottom?
