HI -
My son is about to have a baby and I wanted to get them a really safe seat. Based on some preliminary suggestions by my daughter-in-law (she has the Keyfit) she recommended one of these two.

My son is tall and money is an issue so the graco safeseat would last longer but the chicco Keyfit seems like a nicer seat - more solid. Also they have a smaller car.

What is your experience with these seats and your advice?
Thanks

Both seats are great. Some babies don't like the full recline of an infant seat and are happy to move to a rear facing convertible around 15 lbs or so. I think my daughter was 13 lbs when we moved her from her Snug Ride to a Britax Roundabout. She was much happier more upright.

These were the 2 we narrowed it down to as well and we went w/ the Safeseat for financial reasons coming up. :) If this baby comes early though, we'll go get the Keyfit instead since it holds smaller babies. I like both of these seats and I don't think you can go wrong either way as long as they fit right in the car. My kids never minded the recline of the infant seats, we finally gave up on Evan outgrowing his infant seat and moved him at 10 mos when we went on vacation. He still fits in our Safeseat at almost 20 mos. :)

Do you have Babies R Us near by that you can take their primary car and try the seats out in it? Then you can get the one that fits the car the best.

Do they have LATCH and want to use that to install it? If so the KeyFit has a much better LATCH belt.

Both seats are good seats, so I think whichever one is going to fit the car and the budget will be the one to go with.
