the staraps are AWFUL! I hate them sooo much we have only had in 1 week and I had to take the straps compleatly take them off to get out a compleate twist. I haven't ever had twisting problems with any of my other seats.
plus one strap is longer than the other! I have uninstalled and reinstalled soo many times and it keeps coming up one longer than the other when installed. Britax is sending me new straps but I'm not sure that is going to help this situation. Please if any of you have any advice I would appreciate it very much!! I have no choice but to use this seat. so far I hate the straps with a passion  I's not catching on anything so WHT??

There are slots on the bottom of the shell for the metal ring at the end of the hip straps to "lock" into. If one side is not locked in, that strap is shorter than the other one. For the twisty straps, I had a little trouble with that at first too, because DD buckles herself and she kept getting them twisted. I was just buckling for her at first to avoid the problem (and because I was getting a big kick out of using the super-smooth harness adjuster). I found that if I loosen the harness all the way and lay the harness and buckle tongues neatly over the armrests they don't twist.

Hmmm, can you maybe take pics of the seat on all sides? Or take the harness all the way off and lay the two pieces side by side to see if they are equal?
