FL law question....

I have a friend in FL who has a very large 2 year old. He is 40lbs and she wants to put him in a booster. What can I tell her from a legal standpoint to discourage this? TIA!

up until the 4th birthday, he must be in a harnessed seat. ages 4 and 5 can be in a booster seat until the 6th birthday. Florida law does not require booster use after the 6th birthday.
So, she would absolutely be breaking the law..the child MUST be harnessed through age 3 until the 4th birthday.

Thanks so much for clearing that up for me. I thought thats what they meant when I read it but I wasn't sure. He is a big boy very tall as well.... I think her ped actually told her a booster is fine for him but I didn't want to say that it was illegal until I was sure.
