So my cousin has a 15 month old. When he out grew his infant seat I gave her a cheap graco seat I had for my moms car. She used that and a seat that was her boyfriends little brothers, who is like 6 or 7 years old. It was an over the head type and there was no padding on the over the head thing. Well finally a few month ago she got him a new seat. She bought two nautilus's. One for her car and one for her moms. I know he was a little young for it but was happy to hear she was getting a safe seat for him. I also figured that when she got it she would have learned to put it in. I was wrong.
My mom borrowed my cousin's moms car and took my dd for the day so she got to ride in the nauti. When I got in the car to adjust the seat it was totally lose and this was in a 2004/5 PT Cruiser. She was using the tethers but I just couldn't believe how lose it was!!! And the straps were all twisted!! I have all britax's so please tell me tell that the nauti doesn't tangle easy. So I adjusted it tighten it and felt much better. Well my mom was over today and told me when I was done with the seat I was suppose to put it back how it was bc Sara (cousin) didn't know how to adjust it back!!! Are you kidding me??? Hoe do you get a new seat and not learn how to use???

Well I put the baby in it and it doesnt look like she changed the hight slots at all and its still tight like I had it. My mom said she had to have done something bc she was in the car for awhile doing something but I think she must have just sat there bc it looks the same except the head rest is lower.

My dd is getting a nauti for her bday soon and I cant wait to play with it!!! Why bother getting a great seat not to learn to use it properly??

Can you teach your mom, and then let her point out the troubles with the seat in your cousin's car?

I dont think that would even come across well. Plus my mom is really sick and going through chemo right now.

well, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

You tried already... nothing more you can do, then.
