Site the Compares Car Seat Safety Ratings?

I have someone that wants a site that compares diffferent carseats and their safety rating. Is there a good one out there that I can pass on?

There are no sites that compare the safety ratings of different carseats, because that information is not available. Seats in the US have a pass/fail grading system, and carseat manufacturers self-certify. We techs are taught the mantra, "all seats sold in the US pass the same federal standards. The best seat for you is the one that fits your child, fits your vehicle, and can be used correctly each and every time."

Of course we all know different seats have different features, different selling points, but we have no real way of knowing which seat might perform better or worse in a crash.

Okay. Figured. Is there a site that just has a list of a bunch of different seats and what they offer?

NHTSA does have a site that gives "ease of use" ratings. However, I don't have a link to it, mainly because it's pointless. They must have had some martians rating the seats, because if I recall, some VERY easy-to-use seats were given low ratings while some PITA ones were rated highly.

Exactly why I don't ever give out the NHTSA Ease of Use ratings page.

NHTSA does also have a page listing things like head excursion and knee excursion, IIRC, but it's just a sea of numbers to me, and I never bothered to bookmark it.

I, personally, like my list of recommended seats.

But, it hasn't been updated in awhile and it's probably missing a few decent seats that have been released since I made the list.

That's awesome! Yeah, the Snugride 32 and the True Fit isn't on there... You need to update it so I can pass it on!

Thanks. I'll try to update it soon. The holidays are always sooo busy for me, I've been slacking on all my CPST responsibilities lately.
