OT-- Swim Diapers

This is totaly off-topic, but I was hoping you all could help.

What do you do for a swim diaper for a baby who doesn't fit into the smallest Little Swimmers or Little Splashers that Huggies and Pampers make? I saw reusable swim diapers also (by IPlay and a few other companies), but they have the same weight requirements as the disposable ones.

I am trying to find a swim diaper for a 5.5-month-old who wears size 2 diapers. She weighs about 14.5 pounds, I think.

If any of you have experience with swim diapers, do you think that the size small swim diapers (16 pound minimum, according to the package) would work for a baby who weighs 14.5 pounds?

Or do you have any other ideas?

Thanks!

I would recommend a re-usable swim diaper like this one

I think Target even sells similar ones (?) - They make girl's ones too.

Speaking of swim diapers..funny story. We went camping with my relatives last weekend.
My MIL helped get my kids ready to go swimming at the pool. When we got to the pool, my baby's butt started swelling like a balloon! I asked my MIL if she put a swim diaper on her and she said yes - BUT she thought my toddler's pull ups were swim diapers!
My baby looked SO funny ( and luckily I had an extra actual swim diaper in the diaper bag!)

We use the iplay ones, the best thing I could suggest would be to try the small. I'm pretty certain I've seen an extra small somewhere, but it may have been a while ago.
In a pinch I've found a Fuzzi Bunz without an insert will work. ;)

The reusable ones from Target, sold on the ends of the aisles usually, worked for my DD her first summer. She was born in April and was 24 lbs by 6 months... but I doubt that I had her in the smallest one.
Also, www.bummis.com - the bummi's originals work well, too. I KNOW one of those would fit - I used those from birth.

*If* you want to go with disposables, the smallest ones should fit, even though she wears a 2. I use cloth dipes and just put on a nylon cover and an insert, but I was at a friends the other day and didn't have an extra diaper to do us for our stay. She had the huggies swim diapers in the smallest size and they fit my 14 1/2 pounder just fine, they were slightly long, but otherwise did the trick. So, if it you want to go with them, you should be fine.

If you can't find anything let me know. I work for my DDs swim teacher from home and we can order any size. She starts lessons as 6 months and REQUIRES reuseable swim diapers like the i-play ones, although she also sells another brand. I haven't used a disposeable swim diaper since I bought my first reuseable one- I love them!

I used the Kushies swim diaper and they were great. They use velcro and ties so they're very adjustable!
