Clek Olli booster, vehicle arm rests?

The booster we are currently using (Clek Olli w/LATCH) has arm rest that fit perfectly in between the vehicle captains chairs arm rests. I have been leaving the vans arm rests down. Are there any reasons to use or not use the vehicle arm rests? I was just watching the Britax video on side impact crashes. I kind of thought that leaving them down might provide a bit more protection in a side impact crash, but I have never seen this discussed.

Thoughts?

I don't think the armrests are structurally sound in that they provide any protection, but I also don't think they will hurt. :twocents:

If you're concerned about getting SIP, I would go with a high back booster. Maybe the new oobr!

I'm not really worried about it, I was just curious.

With my sons height and weight there weren't too many options and I just don't like the Monterey. I don't think the Oobr is going to be tall enough. We will see when there are some IRL measurements. The Olli is a perfect fit. We sold his Britax Regent in November because of height.
