Are the insurance rules the same in the US and Canada? My friend in Canada was in a crash(not her fault) and the insurance company is telling her that they will need to go through the home owners insurance to get the seats replaced and that the at fault driver will need to pay the $500 deductible. That doesn't seem like the correct information to me. I've told her to call back tomorrow and speak with someone else but wanted to double check that it's the same in Canada as it is in the US.
They only have 3 high back boosters so it wouldn't be worth it at all to make a claim to the home owners insurance since it won't cost $500 to replace the three seats.
TIA for any info that I can give her.
