Before I read that it was a link, I was thinking to myself, "Hmm... Now how do I go and quantify all of THAT info? :scratcheshead:"

We might skew their statistics.

The question about the locking clip was interesting, the "correct" response has an error in it. "Locking the seatbelt in place to secure the child seat, if the seatbelt doesn't lock or only locks in an emergency" A locking clip cannot be used on a belt that doesn't lock at all, you'd need a belt shortening clip, right? Because the locking clip only positions things until the ELR kicks in.

8. What's the best way to ensure a tight install?

Use a tightening device like the Mighty-Tite

Kneel in the carseat while tightening the belt

Get any police officer, fireman, or nurse to install it for you

Tie the seatbelt in a knot

ROFL!

A BSC is used on a ELR lap belt or a l/s belt with a sewn latchplate. A belt that didn't lock at all would be useless. Therefore, all belts lock in an emergency. ;)

I suppose even sewn on latchplates must have ELR or they wouldn't be much good for a passenger  Haven't seen one since my certification. But still, the question shouldn't suggest that a locking clip can be used on a "belt that doesn't lock".

I didn't mean to imply that I thought that sewn on latchplate belts don't lock. And yes, the answer is wrong.

"Your child is 100% safe while travelling in your car!"

Not hard when you hang out here.

I'm posting it at a mom forum I go to. Curious to see the result.

*doh!* I misread the question about "Which way is the LEAST safe way to install a seat"...I read it as "Which is thesafest" and I wondered how that was determined...except for that misread, I got a 95. LOL

d'oh! I'll go change that about the locking clip. Yes, I wrote it - after seeing a horribly inaccurate quiz.

How's this:
"Locking the seatbelt in place to secure the child seat, if the seatbelt only locks in an emergency."

And for the explaination: "Most seatbelts in newer cars automatically lock or lock if you pull it all the way out and let it retract slowly. Some belts lock only in an emergency and so need a locking clip to keep the seat in place until the emergency locking mechanism kicks in."
