Cloth diapers in carseats

Is the bulk of cloth diapers something that I should worry about?

Like say (not a real situation)...DD doesn't yet reach the top slots of her carseat with a disposable on...but, she fits well with a cloth diaper on..

What about if I have to loosen the harness on her when I put her in because she has a cloth diaper with more stuffing/inserts on than normal?

Is that of the same concern as a poofy winter coat?

Generally, a cloth diaper is not of the same concern as a winter coat. While the buckle is indeed between their legs and part of the restraining process, the shoulder/chest area is a bigger deal when it comes to slack. If a cloth diaper ends up compressing in a crash, it's not going to present the same problem as if a puffy coat compressed on the shoulder area, where restraining the whole torso/upper body is occurring. So as far as safety is concerned, I would not (and am not, as a CD user, as well) be worried about it.

Cloth diapers *can* affect fit regarding what you are asking about slot height, so if your child is close to outgrowing her seat by height, a CD would push her a bit closer than a disposable. HTH! :)
