i was watching late last night 11pm untold stories of the ER (i think) & the a story caught my eye about 2 young children (one being 6yo) & rtaher petite. but unfortunatly they had crashed in a car & the poor lil girl got internal injuries from her setabelt. the dr did mention about that setabelt do save lives BUT the younger children especially those udner 10yo don't fit an adult seat properly & the lap belt can cause lots of injuries to their abdomen. not a quote but def along those lines. i thought that was GREAT. i wish he said how that can be avoided. but he didn't. but i was glad it was on tv. hoping that parents will think twice about taking a child out of a booster. it reinforces my decision to keep my big 9.5yo in his booster til he FITS GREAT in a seatbelt alone.

I think I've seen that one before - or maybe one with a similar statement in it at the very least. I love those shows. :)

I believe it was "Trama: Life in the ER". The doctor said kids between the ages of 4 and 10 are at most risk for serious injuries from seat belts because they just don't fit them properly.

I'm sure in his head he's thinking that the audience should then be logical enough to reason that if it doesn't fit them properly and this is what happens and the doctor says they don't fit at those ages, then we should use boosters.

However, he's underestimating the lack of logic that floods people's heads when they don't have all the info in front of them.
