Musical car seats...

OK, here's what we've got:

We drive a 2006 Mazda MPV minivan and a 1999 Ford Expedition.

Grandma has a 2007 Toyota Corolla 4dr.

Ds was 3 in Sept. On 9/22 he weighed 35lbs and was 37.5", he just had a growth spurt (we could tell by the constant inhaling of food for a week and sleeping until after 8am when normal wakeup is 6am...LOL) but I haven't measured him yet.

He's currently riding in an EFTA in my van. Still has lots of growing room. And an Apex/Biltmore in daddy's truck.

Grandma wants a car seat for her vehicle. He will be in it very rarely. There are other grandkids but my MIL doesn't generally drive them anywhere as they live an hour away. It is a very small possibility, though.

So...my initial thought was to purchase and put a Nautilus in my van, leave the Apex with daddy and give Gma the EFTA. Does that make sense? If you have another suggestion please give it and tell me why...thanks!

Check the install before you commit-- the seats on the Corolla are really contoured and you want to make sure it's not going to be unacceptable (I'm not anticipating major problems, but you just want to be sure when a car has seats like the Corollas do, I've had my share of "why on earth did they design these seats this way???" moments!)
