Backless booster for 100+ child

Is there a backless booster that can go over 100 pounds? I've heard people talking about using a HBB (was it the Britax or SSK?). But I know a family that has a 97 pound 8 year old that should be in a booster. I think chances of it being used are higher if it were a NBB than a HBB.

Any thoughts?

I don't know if the Monarch goes backless, but it does not have a weight limit.

What do people do with a 100 pound child that doesn't pass the 5 step test?

If it were my child, I'd make the parental decision to use the booster over the weight limit. Boosters don't absorb crash forces the same way harnessed seats do. So while with a harnessed seat you must never go over the weight limits, a booster isn't as important. Your biggest obstacle may be in finding a booster that is roomy enough.

Thanks, I was thinking just go over the limit. But I wanted to see if others thought that too.
