It's in Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Weaver Street Market (
http://weaverstreetmarket.com/). There's one on Weaver Street in downtown Carrboro, then another in Southern Village in Chapel Hill (we used to live in Southern Village, that's why we became members, and we came to love it).
It's an organic/health food grocery store. Kind of like a Whole Foods, but a bit smaller. They don't have quite the herbal section that Whole Foods does. But great veggies, meats, prepared foods, baby supplies, etc. I think it was a $40 membership a year and/or you could volunteer. Piper and I volunteered for a while when she was a baby. So we got a 5% discount for being members and a 15% discount for volunteering once a week. It was a good deal.
If it's fresh veggies you're interested in, there's an organic farm you can become members of called Hilltop Farms. They're a sustainable farm and you can become a member. You get to pick up fresh organic veggies several times a year as they become available. We took a tour there and it's wonderful. Best strawberries I've tasted around. They're in Willow Springs, you'd want to go down 401 from Raleigh and it's before you get to Fuquay.
Have you heard of Earth Fare? I haven't been yet, but it seems very much to be a Weaver Street/Whole Foods store. There's a store in Raleigh in Brier Creek near the airport. There's also another one in Chapel Hill (no surprise, I miss the crunchiness of Chapel Hill).
