I have a dad-to-be looking for infant seat suggestions for his 95 GMC Yukon (is that the same as the Tahoe?). Outboard passenger side is out due to broken belt buckle.
Dad called wanting some carseat education and advice, so Andie and I showed him how to install an Evenflo...Portabout, IIRC (because it can be installed without the base). It was the only infant seat I had on hand with a base, figured it would have to do for educational purposes (and it went a long way in convincing him they do NOT want an Evenflo infant seat ).
However, the buckle stalks in the 95 Yukon were long and a bit forward of the bight, and not very flexible. We could only twist them once, and it wasn't enough to get the buckle out of the belt path so the carrier could click into place.
What infant seat bases have a taller belt path that should be more compatible with longer, rigid buckle stalks? Carseatdata.org has only one infant seat entry for this vehicle, and it's a SnugRide. I'm going to recommend that, too, but would like to hear if anyone else has any experience with this vehicle and other infant seats.
