Locking the seat belt for boosters?

I've seen locking the seat belt on kids in boosters in various threads on here. Do you mean locking it by pulling it all the way out of the retractor and letting it go back, the way you do for carseat installs? I'm curious about this, because my car owner's manual makes it very clear that locking the seatbelt this way is ONLY for carseats, and that (non-harnessed) passengers are NOT to ride with their seat belt locked.

Yes, that's exactly what we mean. It can be a very useful for the newly boostered or extra wiggly child. In fact, my DS prefers (demands, actually :p) to lock his seat belt when he rides in a booster.

I'm very curious about what vehicle you have, as I don't recall ever seeing a reference to not locking the seat belt for passengers.

Hmmm. I just looked at the PDF manual online, and I can't find it. :scratcheshead: I would swear that I saw it when I read the manual back in 2002, and had it lodged in my mind ever since. I must be :dizzy:
