My oldest DS (10) spent the night at a friend's house last night and called this morning to ask if he could go to church with them. I said OK, knowing they have a grand cherokee, thinking that would be okay. When he got back I asked him if he buckled up like a good boy and he said yeah. I said you didn't put the shoulder belt behind your back did you and he said he couldn't because there wasn't one!!! He said his friend (13) put his behind his back though. I guess they took old pickup with sort of double cab. I'm not happy about this and told DH he won't be going anywhere with them anymore. DS doesn't know he won't be riding with them but I'll wait to tell him until a situation arises. I'm not gonna ask them to put one of their kids (10 and 13)in a lap belt so mine can have a shoulder belt.
This is also worriesome because they have a 3 1/2 old month premiee finally coming home from the hospital this week and I'm worried about car seat safety with this baby cause I know first hand how much things have changed since my first was a baby. I'm debating the best way to get info to these people without making problems in my son's friendship.
