So, now that I'm back to considering the Britaxs, please tell me how your Sahara/Onyx covers are holding up -- are these [60% nylon 40% poly] covers more breathable, easy to clean, durable?

TIA!

I've had both on my Regent.

Sahara...It is like a suede material on the outer part and windbreaker like material in the center. Mine still looks great after 1 year of use, but it does show dirt more than the Onyx. My son doesn't get hot in it at all in the summer.

Onyx....It is like a fluffy fleece on the outer part and windbreaker like material in the center. I used mine for about 7 months and it looked the same as the day I got it. It doesn't show dirt at all and wipes up really easy. It was a bit hot for my son in the summer months, but not excessively. The only reason we got the Sahara cover was Britax replaced my seat after a warranty issue. I had originally ordered the Sahara but Target sent the wrong cover (Onyx) and gave me a discount to keep it. Soooo, long story short, when I was told that Britax was sending me a new seat, I got the cover that matches my van. It's for sale ;).

I really like both covers. I like the Onyx slightly better, but the Sahara looks best in our van. HTH

We've had the Sahara for our Regent for almost two years and I'm perfectly happy with it. DS rides in it nearly every day, and it was our main seat for 1.5 years. Never had trouble getting it clean, DS doesn't sweat in it in the summer, etc.

We've had an onyx marathon and an onyx regent, and we loved them both. As others have said they are easy to keep clean. We lived in southwest Texas for quite some time, and ds1 was in the onyx marathon. He is usually sweating, but no more so in that seat than anywhere else. Ds2 was in a colonial blue marathon at the time and sweating more than ds1, and ds2 isn't really a sweating kid.
