What did you do with the nautilus padding/infant insert?

I'm not even sure why it comes with infant padding, but what did you do with yours? I'm doing some major cleaning this week and I'm sitting here with the padding on my dining room table and I have no idea what to do with it. I imagine we will use the nautilus until it expires, so anyone want it??

Mine is in a plastic tote in my laundry room ... along with my DC infant inserts and pillow, FPSVD pad, two sets of HUGS, Regent/MA strap covers (in the winter), etc.

Most of it is in the box it came in. One of the shoulder pads is in my purse. I need to put it in the box with the rest of the padding.

It has it because it's made for little kids. Not infants, but toddlers. You can only use it with the lowest setting. Probably no one here would ever buy the seat and use the lowest setting, since most kids who fit in that would fit rear facing, but then there's the real world out there. I met a lady in Target last week who had just bought the Nautilus for her just one year old. I convinced her to return it and put him rear facing. :) But he would have liked the padding.

Mine's in the closet in the nursery. I'm sure I'll use the seat in some capacity or another until it expires. I figure I'll just keep it for now.

I used mine to line a crocery cart at the store to make it more comfy for ds and lost it. LOL.
On a related note...i know you must remove the infant padding for anything above the bottom slot.
The crotch pad thing. dd hates it and has removed it. Refuses to use it. is this allowed/ a big deal? I tried to look it up in the manual, but couldn't find specific instructions?

I guess mine will just get stored. I can't stand to get rid of part of a seat I'm using, even though I'm never going to use the padding! I suppose there are some out there who would use it, but I was also thinking that if graco didn't include it then perhaps some wouldn't put a 1yr old in it. It really should be a 2yr and up seat. Maybe someday.

I put mine in the closet with all the other car seat parts. Just in case I sell the seat down the road I want it to go with all of its parts.

I don't see why you'd HAVE to use the crotch pad thingy. AJ likes it, I think it's easier for him to dig out when he gets in his seat w/ it on there.

Our padding is somewhere. I think I just threw it in the hallway to put it away b/c I found it in the dining room. Shoot, Ilana isn't even 2 and she's almost to the 3rd slots, my kids would have to be VERY young to use that bottom slot.

A and J took the padding from J's 2 GNs as soon as they were taken off the seat. I think they're beds for their stuffed animals now, lol. They'll use the seats until they expire, especially with a new baby coming (so many more years of carseat use to go). I think Sofi is already over the bottom slots, and she's just turned 2. No way we'll ever use it.

Dh sat dd in a nautilus in bru about 2 months ago just to mess with me and she was already a little over the bottom slots, and she was 13 months at the time! She decided to sit in ds1's monarch the other day when it was sitting in the dining room and I was surprised at how close she came to fitting in it at it's lowest setting!
