saw something that made me want to cry..

I was cruising along yesterday when I saw a guy with a child on the back of a motorcycle! This child was about 5 or 6 years old and just holding on to the back of the guy. He had a helmet on, but that's it. there wasnt even a backrest. Typical speed for this road is about 45. As I was sitting there in shock, I watched him get onto the interstate  I just couldnt believe this guy thought that it was a good idea to get onto a major road with a small child on the back let alone a stinking major interstate!

One of the parents where I used to work would come to get his 3 1/2 year old son with his motorcycle. My opinion is kind of slanted because I don't want myself on a motorcycle on any street but a neighborhood street. Not enough protection for me.

:eek::eek: that's legal!!! that's insane and very dangerous IMO. We see "watch out for motorcycles" signs all over the place so I don't see why anyone would want a child on a motorcycle.

You couldn't pay me enough to ride on one... even on a neighborhood street.

Yes, it's legal in most places to have a child passenger on a motorcycle provided the child is seated in an actual passenger seating area (i.e. not in front of the driver), is wearing a helmet, and in some cases, can touch the foot pegs.

Yikes! Very scary. Dh has a friend at work who tells a story of taking his 7-8 yo dd on the motorcycle and then getting home to find out that she had *fallen asleep* on the ride!!! She was holding on, but fully asleep!

Scary. scary. scary.
