Booster/HWH seat dilemma

First off here are Ian's stats:
6y3m 48lbs 42"(?)
Vehicle stats: 2006 Honda Pilot w/ SAB, 2005 Toyota Tundra Crew Cab (4door) NO SAB

Ian has a Parkway that we use occasionally in DH's truck, which I don't particularly care for. I'd prefer him to be harnesed ESPECIALY in DH's truck due to roll over risk and no SAB. DH wants a seat that is easy to get in and out of the truck for conveince. He doesn't want to leave it installed in his truck on a regular basis. I'd like to get another Regent for DH's truck. Ian currently rides in a Regent in my Pilot

Would you get another Regent or just use the booster as needed?
I currently have a Regent, Parkway and an Olli.

how much of that 42 inches is torso?
cuz I'm thinking nauti or frontier - chances are you would have some time harnessed in either. Otherwise, the regent is going to be a good harnessed choice, obviously.
at that age, if he can sit, a booster is certainly an acceptable choice, but you are right, due to rollover and side impact concerns a 5 pt is going to be safer (a 5 pt is always safer, of course, but especially safer given those circumstances, is what i mean)

Since Dh doesn't want to keep it installed, is he capable of installing a seat well w/out you. ;) If not, a booster is a better option. If so, I suppose a talk w/ DH would be in order. The boys use a harnessed seat in DH's truck and he knows how to put it in just fine w/out me so if he has to take it out it's no biggy.

Oh, he is all torso. We've already tried the Nauti and the Frontier.
He has NO growing room in the Frontier and only a tiny bit in the Nautilus. Ian doesn't like the leg support of the Nautilus.

Yes, he can install it. It's a matter of he doesn't like to take the extra time it takes to install the tether.
It is a PITA to install the tether in his truck because the rear seats are flush with the rear window. I've finally figured out an easier way to get it installed, just have to teach DH. That is if he will quit being stubborn and take the time to learn.
I had to pull out the " do you want conveince or the safety of your son" card.
