Question About Tethering a RF Mirror?

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I made the parental decision to buy a RF Mirror for my suv so that I could keep a eye on my sneaky 2yr old. He has come into the bad habit of trying to grab at the baby when riding. I bought one of the FP soft mirrors that tether, but the strap isn't long enough to reach my tether hook at the bottom of my seat.:( My question is can I safely use a Dring looped through the tether anchor to achieve the extra length I need to hook the mirror?? TIA:)

i don't see that as a problem as long as the D-loop isn't too long. the tether that the mirror comes with is not a "real" tether anyway and there is no rule as to how it is used. RF mirrors are light and the chances of them coming undone from a headrest during a crash is pretty low, and any force they generate *if* they come undone is low as well.

Thanks.:) I just wanted to make sure I didn't do something not allowed. The only reason I am worried about tethering the mirror is because it is the one with the little knob on the front for music. The strap is adjustable so I can tighten it to where there is no slack when hooked.
