Yesterday while out with DD I noticed a car with a FF infant bucket, It's an Evenflo model because of the handle. I ran into the Grandpa who watches his grandson (12.5 mo) and I had asked if the car was DIL and he said it was his and I mentioned that the infant seat is only for RF. He had asked what was the guideline for turning and I said "law is 1 AND 20 lbs" but it is 4x-5x ( I even used internal decapitation) safer to keep them RF to the limits of the seat which is 30-35lbs (not the bucket of course) . He said he tried a seat and it didn't fit, I mentioned to him the Scenera since it's $40 and provide a decent seat for him as he doesn't go much in the car when with Grandpa. I mentioned that there needs to be 1" of head room above the shell as well. He said he was over that (not a surprise) And that Car Seats are only good for 6 yrs (he understood reasoning behind that) I mentioned this site that if the parents are open to hearing more from techs. I also mentioned that the CHP will check their seats for free (show them how to intall not install for them) and also mentioned the two important factors for a car seat isn't price but used/installed correctly every time. He said he was going to talk to the DIL/Son so I'm hoping to hear that they open to car seat safety. When I see him next time I'll offer to help with install even. I thank all of the info to this seat for saying something b/c I'd never felt comfortable enough to talk to someone about it.

You're brave. I used to talk to people about car seat use but I don't anymore unless someone asks me a specific question. I got sick of having people get mad at me.

I agree with the previous post. I also got tired of people getting mad or not listening to what I have to say about car seat safety. I never thought that car seat safety was such a personal topic.
