She asked to be turned back around!

So at 3 years nearly 10 months, 27 pounds, 37.5 inches, she rearfaced today. I hope she's going to stay this way for a good long while. But if she doesn't, here are pictures of her at nearly four with TONS of room left to RF in the Wizard.

Anyway, wanted to share. I'm thrilled she's back RFing. I asked her last week if she'd go back and she said NO NO NO. I do have a bit of guilt that I turned her so young (2.5 years. LOL) since she had probably 10 pounds and six torso inches at least, maybe more like eight, so I hope she's RFing again for a long while. She'll probably stay FFing in my husband's car (he has an Audi A4, so a small back seat and a RFing Wizard would interfere with his front seats and he transports other people more often than he transports her). She loved riding this way today, kept saying she didn't remember being like that, but she was tickled that that's how she came home from the birthing center. It was hard to tell exactly when she fell asleep this evening, though. Oh well.

Just wanted to share!

off topic - but how do you get Piper to leave her bracelet on ? We *need* to get Boo a medic alert bracelet, but keep putting it off because he takes off the no-name medical bracelet we have for him all the time.

She's so cute! I can't believe how petite she is and I just love the curls. It's all just little girl envy I know. lol

Kashi, do you think he'd leave a medic alert necklace alone? Maybe tuck it in his shirt and he might not notice. You could try it w/ another necklace type thing first to see. I think Piper's bracelet is kind of stylish, I would think any little girl would keep that on, but I'm not sure about a little boy. They are completely different! Thankfully our allergies aren't that bad, but as AJ gets older and starts doing things away from home I may get him one for his drug allergy. I should probably get myself one as well. Hmmm.

She CAN'T get it off. It's like a watch band, it'd be far too complicated for her. But I also spent an entire car trip telling her why she had to wear one (just in case) and what other things we did "just in case" (like ride with seatbelts!). Plus she picked it out, she loves it. She got it a week ago or so and other than a couple of nights when she was asleep she's worn it since. I got her a sports band (the tag can come off and go onto different bands) and she won't wear that one, just the pink polka dot one that she picked out. Maybe that would help, if he picked one out? Since it's a watch band style (you slide a little stick through a hole and tuck the extra band under) you can make it as tight as it needs to be and he can't get it off.

Thanks for looking at Piper!

She looks great. For a second I thought the adjuster strap was the middle seat belt should strap. LOL

Liam is one pound over the limit. He lost weight. Not that I have any rear facing seats at the moment. LOL He doesn't fit rf in the RA and its at my friends anyway. I got rid of the DC when we got the Regent. He did fit rf in the DC when he was three though. I put him in my friends when we took her car and put her DS in the Companion that she had installed for her unborn. LOL

Oh if you ever see a medic alert braclet with dinosaurs on it let me know, my friend needs one for her DS but she is having issues with him keeping it on. He has a peanut allergy and the result of contact is death. He is 5 now but has Aspergers so he can't really be reasoned with. He is obsessed with dinosaurs though so that might help.

Cute pictures and so cool that she wants to RF. I too appreciate the link for the bracelet - my oldest is allergic to peanuts and eggs and we're trying to get her something she would like and not take off all of the time.

Those are cute, and we need one.

Rachel, what about the generic bracelet with the links, and putting on dino charms? A jewelry store will attach the charms so that they can't be twisted off.

No, he wouldn't leave a necklace alone. And they aren't recommended for children (under 10 / under 12) anyhow - kids are too busy, and the necklace can become a strangulation hazzard if it gets out of thier clothing.

I'm going to check out the bracelet wendy linked to though. Real medic alert bracelets don't come small enough for Boo's wrist - at least not the child-friendly ones.

OT: DD loves her new medical alert bracelet

Wendy, thanks again for the bracelet info. Talk about fast service, I ordered over the holiday weekend and the engraved ID and watchband style bracelets arrived this morning. DD loves hers so far and says she never wants to take it off, lol. She decided she likes the the pink band with stars the best, so I probably should get her several more as backups. Thanks!

Glad you like it!!!! Ours came really fast as well. I was shocked, sure they had just sent us the tag to be engraved ourselves. LOL I'm glad your daughter likes it.

Ilana wants to be rear facing too! But she's 38.8lbs :( I HAD to turn her at 2y9m! Now if I could only convince my friend to keep her 11.5 month old rear facing in her DC:eek: I've gone into how her head will detatch from her neck, but no luck:confused:

I ended up turning her back, about three days later. She threw a fit, and since she'd been FF for 14 months already I didn't really have a leg to stand on about why she couldn't. I kind of wish I hadn't turned her, but what's done is done. Plus it was SO hard to hear her (Nissan Xterra has a LOUD engine) and hand her things. I was spending so much time out of position in my seat handing her stuff. So in the end it was probably better. I don't know how I could get it to work for us 100% like it used to. Oh well.
