The regent is just so big, and ds2 isn't anywhere close to the size ds1 was when he was that age (ds1 had already outgrown the marathon, ds2 is on the top slots with a little more than in inch to go). He is just dwarfed by the regent. He was on the second slots up from the bottom and there is no way, based on his growth patterns, that he will come close to outgrowing it before it expires. Since there are more options out there we decided to go take a look yesterday. Ds2 sat in the GN and was immediately taken over by whatever it is they do to that seat that makes kids want it! We brought it home, put it together and installed it last night. It was a breeze to install compared to the regent, and so much lighter. He even begged me to drive them to school this morning so he could ride in it. We usually walk since it's not quite half of a mile, but he had to ride in his new seat! So far we love it. My only doubt is that the booster mode doesn't go much higher than the harness mode, so it doesn't seem like it will last very long as a booster after the harness is outgrown.

Remember you can use it as a backless booster too. And as long as you have head restraints for the child, there is no issue in allowing them to use a backless version.

Is it bad that the thought of putting any of my babies in a backless booster just doesn't sit well with me?
