Seat check... now or later?

I recently found a tech who lives nearby and I want her to check my installs. In Nov. there will be a baby boy's seat too. I want to have her check my seats and in Mom's car. Should I wait until after the baby is born or just do it now?

Before and after is best. It is always nice to make sure the new kiddo is in well.

Most of our parents we see are expecting parents. I help them get their seat in properly & show them how to use the carrier before baby comes. Then we ask them to come back for a recheck after baby is born. Usually rechecks are quick and we don't have to do the install over again. We are just checking to make sure the recline is good for little one and that s/he fits the seat properly.

For sure do it now, don't risk bringing baby home in a seat that's not in right! We always show expecting parents how to buckle baby in right with a doll, so at least ask the tech to do that. If you can go back after the baby is born, do it, but at least go before!

Also, if you and mom have the same seat (I can't remember what you posted??), the tech will teach you how to install the seat, so you could help mom with hers, and then go with her when she gets her car checked after the baby is born? Then you wouldn't both have to go twice, but both seats would get checked.
