Now I know why I can't find a newer Signo DOM

I've been frustrated ever since buying my first Signo. I purchased it about a month ago and got it home only to realize it was almost a year old. I returned it, but they had no newer ones. I regularly check online retailers and call for DOM's. They are always 10/07-12/07.

So I came on here interested what other people had. Lo and behold, they were pretty much all 10/07-12/07. I was getting frustrated as I do not want a year old seat for full price. So I wrote Recaro yesterday asking where in the world I could atleast find a seat not a year old.

Here's the answer:

At this time we have no seats manufactured in 2008. During our initial production of seats we had manufactured an over abundance. Once product is near depletion, manufacturing of new seats will begin. I'm sorry I do not have any better information for you.

So there you go. They don't exist. So anyone buying one thinking they are getting a newer DOM, be aware. You won't even find one after 12/07.

My thought? You need to lower the prices then if you want to "deplete your stock." Locally all are still full price and if you are looking for blush online they are pretty much all full price. $279 for a year old seat that you would only be able to use for 5 years?? I'll pass. So I guess I can stop looking for a newer DOM huh?

Maybe this explains why Albee baby (slightly) lowered their Recaro prices? I agree, discount them!! I'd buy one too :D

I know. At the rate they sell and at full price for a year old seat....how long will it even take to deplete the stock?? It might take quite a while

or they will sell to unsuspecting individuals who don't know better about dom's. ultimitely causing these seats to be used for a year afer they expire. a lady i was talking to at the christmas tree shop the other day thought it was from the date purchased they expired. they had eddie bauer backless boosters for $14.99
