First Years True Fit DOM and ?'s

I just got my true fit today and it's DOM is 1-2-08 so it's over 8 months old. Am I wrong in feeling disappointed about this? I ordered it online so i guess i'm stuck with it. Do they last 6 years or longer?

Also, I haven't put my 13 m.o. in it yet since he's in bed, but he's 20 lbs and 29 inches. If his head is more than 1 inch below the top would you install w/o the top headrest or just put it on now?

I can't wait to see how he fits in it and it fits in my vehicle!

TF's have a 7 year life span. If you have a 01/08 DOM you may have gotten a seat with 3 crotch buckle positions instead of 2. Mine is the same DOM-Misty Morning cover, and has 3 positions. Some seats have only 2 positions and lack the outermost (which my seat has). You might want to check.

We really like the TF. My favorite seat, so far. Very easy to use and install. Depending on what you need, you could install it with or without the headrest. It's up to you.

Have fun!

I think the seats with the 3 positions are harder to find? You might want to keep it for that reason alone.

You may wish to search for a recent thread entitled "DOM". I posted a reply that has the formula for calculating how much monetarily you have lost by purchasing an older DOM seat. You can use that info to contact the online store who sold you the seat to see if they would be willing to give you a refund/credit for that amount. For a TrueFit with a lifespan of 7 years, 8 months of lost use should be right around $15. It's your call if you want to try and fight for it.
