recaro add-ons

I was just checking out babyuniverse and it shows that there are a ton of add ons for use with a recaro seat. One is the foot rest, another comfort cushion and a neck pillow. They all say use with a recaro seat only. Does that mean its ok to use these products. I was thinking of getting dd a recaro booster as our back up seat and to booster train her from a local place here and thought about some of these add-ons later.

I believe they can only be used with the Recaro Start - which is a VERY expensive (but nice) booster.

Yes, I'm pretty sure those are only for the Start. I can't get the Recaro site to load in anything but the European version for some reason, so I can't double-check, but I do remember them from when I was shopping for mine.

Insanely expensive booster, but I must admit I love it more and more.

another question but since the recaro start doesn't expire and its all metal is it ok to use second hand if you do not know the history. I was talking to a friend and their cousins friend offered it to her since it doesn't expire, so she took it. But her dds only 9 months. So she said i could use it temporarily if i like. But not knowing the history i am wary,.

The Start now has an 8-year expiration date, and like any booster, the manufacturer doesn't recommend using it after it's been crashed. So no, if you don't know the seat's history, you can't know whether or not it's safe to use.
