How do these look (3-across installs)

I took some time today while DH and the kids were in the laundromat to play with the seats we have.

I found 3 that seemed to work together :
- Cosco Regal Ride
- Evenflo Generations
- Graco infant seat w/ base

The first picture is likely how we'll have to do this using these seats. That has both the Generations and the Regal Ride FF. Everything fits in nice, and I can close the doors without a problem.

The second photo has the Regal Ride RF, which I'm not sure we'll be able to do anyhow (it RF to 30 lbs, DD is 27 lbs) and the doors don't close easily - I have to bump a seat :(

It looks fine as long as everything is installed right. The bottom pic is how my car will look, rfing on each side and ffing in the middle.

They look good! What order did you put them in? (just curious)

You have my favorite snugride pattern! I want that one so bad i considered buying a used seat off ebay and transferring covers but i guess everyone else likes it too since that pattern get bidded up rather high.

We're going to look around too - see if we can't find a slimmer infant seat, and maybe look at a CarGo for Boo (instead of the Generations), just to get a more independant fit for all 3 seats.

Hmm - with the top photo, I left the Generations installed where it already is.
Then put the Regal Ride in.
Then the infant base. Then clipped the infant seat on.

With the bottom photo, I think I put the Generations in first again.
Then the Regal Ride.
Then had to undo the Generations to move it over so I could clip in the Regal Ride.
Then re-clipped the Generations.
Then the infant base. Then the seat onto the base.

I told you youd be suprised ;) lol!
Id try the cargo for a little extra room and then they should all fit great. Very promising!

Yes - VERY suprised about the fits. Pleasantly so.

I also had my DD's Marathon, and DS's old Century Accel to try, but both were too wide.

I never did try to get the Marathon in there at all - though I may try it instead of the Generations at some point.

definitely give the MA a try as well. It is 19.5" at its widest point, which is that contour at the hips, and smaller everywhere else. Its usually really good for puzzling in seats.
You can also take the armrests off the generations for a better fit.

I don't think you can take them off, just put them up and down.
The CarGo will probably give you a bit more room. And because of the low sides, it fits beside the MA on a high base (well, beside a boulevard at least)

no you can, I just need to find the instructions for it. Its from the back I think and you have to squeeze the tabs and push, I think... but let me try to find the info before you do it lol!

Yayyy Kashi, you did it! Glad you had a chance to fit 3 seats across. I know you're still tinkering/tweaking the seats, but it's good to see you have at least one combination that already will fit in your car.

:)

Yes - it means we can put off getting a van at least until spring.

Unless it's twins of course

WOOOHOOOOO! :D

If you haven't yet, just try uninstalling some of the seats after all are installed to make sure that each seat is independantly secure, instead of only appearing secure because they're pushaing against each other....

& I'm hoping your sake it's not twins ;) :p

ok finally got some instructions on taking the armrests off.

turn the seat so the back is facing you, look at where the armrests attach, you will see a tab that is round with a square part. with one hand grip the side of the seat and use your thumb to push the tab. use your other hand to push the hollow square out, it should pop right out with no problem.

see if that works.
