Sid the Science Kid (Booster Use)

"Sid the Science Kid" is a new show on PBS. The characters are CGI-animated muppets, basically (so no real kids).

DS is watching it right now, and it showed Sid on his way to school. He was in the back seat in the middle, and at first I thought, "Hmph, at least the seat belt fits him right." Then I noticed that he was actually in a booster! I think the kids are in preschool, so he probably could have still been harnessed, but still.

Anyway, it's a cute (and VERY educational) show, AND Sid is properly restrained. :)

Later in the same episode, Sid is in Grandma's car. He has a different booster, but his head is well over the top of the seat, and there are no headrests. I guess I can't be too picky about a cartoon, though.

I really need to stop taking this stuff so seriously.

HaHa! That's great that they at least had him in a booster! I have been waiting for that show to start! I hope we get it here so DS can see it.

That's so funny that someone else noticed the booster use too. I saw that yesterday w/my kids and had the same thought. I was excited to see he was at least in a booster!

Caillou is 4 and in a lbb booster and his sister Rosie is 2 in one of those ancient belt positioning things. And you thought you were the only one!:D

I love Sid the Science Kid!! My 28month old son will sit and watch 2 full episodes back to back..and he has a short attention span normally and can't watch any show all the way through! I noticed the booster too! lol. And when his friend is in grandma's car with him on the way home from school, they were both in boosters!

The simpsons bugs me the most! lol. Seeing maggie in forward facing, in the front seat! (she's not in the front in all episodes just some..but she is forward facing in all). haha.
I notice this stuff on every show (cartoon or not) with kids.

We love Calliou in this house and Rosie's seat bugs the crap out of me.

Hey, it's a step up from Charlie and Lola, who have no boosters and no lap belts... just shoulder belts. Yeah, weird.

I was going to post the same thing!

I am not happy about the booster in grandma's car, but I love the one they show in his mom's car.

I think, from what they do in school, he's got to be in kindergarten, but it looks more like a preschool.

Regardless, he's over 4yrs, definitely over 40lbs, and they show him riding in it properly... and I'll take that... it's beyond what I expected.

Grandma's car, though, I have to say I was looking for that headrest... I know I almost missed it the first time in his mom's car, cause his head is drawn big enough that it blocks it until he gets out, but I am sure his grandma's car doesn't have one on the booster.

it's weird, too, because it looks like a graco booster with the back, but not the headrest.

I finally saw it today. It was the one with the magnifying glass.
He is in a booster with the shoulder belt, but there is NO LAP BELT!
Most strange!

How nice to have a kgn. class with only four kids!

Oh, I noticed the parents dropped off their kids with no adult on the playground...

But generally, a great show!

Isn't Calliou in a backless booster using lap belt only? We rarely watch TV and only cable at grandma's but I remember somethign striking me as way off but perhaps it was just that he is like 3 and in a backless but with 3 pts.

I noticed that, too... and people must have put in their two cents because they've changed the beginning of that sequence. The teacher is now present when Sid gets dropped off.
